Grant to Study Love and Human Agency

The John Templeton Foundation grant to UC Riverside philosopher Agnieszka Jaworska (together with Bennett Helm from Franklin and Marshall College and Jeffrey Seidman from Vassar College) will fund interdisciplinary research on questions such as: What is love? What is the role of love and caring in human freedom and other aspects of human agency? This project addresses such questions by capitalizing on the latest advances in neuroscience, and fostering interdisciplinary exchange between the best philosophical theories of love and caring, the relevant insights from psychology, law, medicine, and economics, and cutting edge scientific research on the emotions. $5 Million Grant Awarded to Study Immortality
