Professor Reath works in the area of moral philosophy, in particular Kant’s practical philosophy, with additional interests in the history of moral philosophy. Current projects include attempts to understand the sense in which Kant’s Categorical Imperative is a formal principle, Kant’s account of free agency, his general conception of rational agency, and a short book on the argument of the Groundwork.
Congratulations to Professor Carl Cranor on being named the Patricia McSweeny McCauley Chair in Teaching Excellence for the 2015-2016 academic year. The Chair was established in 1993 to encourage and reward excellence in teaching in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
