UCR Philosophy Department Colloquia

Spring Quarter:

  • On Wednesday, May 13th, from 3–5pm, John Carriero gave a colloquium talk entitled “Sensations and Knowledge of Body in Descartes's Meditations.”
  • On Wednesday, April 15th, from 3–5pm, Maggie Little gave a colloquium talk entitled “Intimate Assisstance: Re-Thinking Abortion in Law and Morality.”

Winter Quarter:

  • On Wednesday, February 25th, from 3–5pm, Jeremy Heis gave a colloquium talk entitled “Concepts from Kant to Frege.”
  • On Wednesday, January 28th, from 3–5pm, Pamela Hieronymi gave a colloquium talk entitled “Responsibility and Mental Agency.”

Fall Quarter:

  • On Wednesday, November 11th, from 3–5pm, Jonathan Haidt of the University of Virginia gave a talk entitled "Four Principles of a Broadened Moral Psychology."
  • On Wednesday, October 29th, from 3–5pm, Jonathan Adler of CUNY Graduate Center presented a paper entitled "Belief and Minimal Mutilation."
  • On Wednesday, October 22nd, from 5–7pm, Barry Stroud of UC Berkeley gave a talk entitled "Wittgenstein on Meaning and Understanding."
