UCR Philosophy Department Events: 2008–2009
In addition to our frequent colloquia and annual conferences, we hold regular workshops. See below for a summary of our workshops (and other activities) during the 2008–2009 school year. For current and upcoming events, visit this year’s page or our department calendar.
Spring Quarter:
- Please join us on May 30th, 2009, for the first annual lecture in the Bernd Magnus Lecture Series. This inaugural lecture will be given by Maudemarie Clark (UC Riverside) with commentary from Brian Leiter (University of Chicago) and Lanier Anderson (Stanford University). - Sven Bernecker (UCI) will be conducting a workshop on May 27th, from 4–6pm in the Philosophy seminar room. His paper will be entitled “Remembering Without Knowing.”
- Avrum Stroll (UCSD, Emeritus) conducted a workshop on Wittgenstein and skepticism on April 22nd, 2009.
- Susanna Schellenberg (Philosophy, RSSS, Australian National University) conducted a workshop on April 14th, 2009, from 3–5pm. Her talk was entitled, “The Particularity and Phenomenology of Perceptual Experience.” If you would like a copy of the talk, please contact Eric Schwitzgebel.
Winter Quarter: Edouard Machery conducted a workshop on Feb 11th, 2009, from 3–5pm.
